1. Information we collect
| Category | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Account info | Name, email address, and password when you create an account. |
| Resume content | Everything you enter into a resume — contact details, work history, education, skills, certifications, projects, languages, references, and any photo you upload. |
| Guest sessions | If you use ResumeKit without creating an account, your resume data is tied to a temporary guest session rather than a personal account. |
| Subscription & billing | Subscription status, plan, and renewal date. Payment itself is handled entirely by Google Play — we never receive or store your card details. |
| Usage & diagnostics | App interactions, device type, operating system, and crash reports, collected automatically via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. |
2. How we use it
- To create and manage your account, and let you build, save, and export resumes.
- To verify and manage your Pro subscription through Google Play.
- To understand how the app is used so we can fix bugs and improve features, via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
- To respond when you contact us for support.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations, such as retaining transaction records.
We do not use your resume content to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and resume data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your resumes, profile information, and login credentials are permanently deleted. Subscription and transaction records are retained in anonymized form for the period required by tax and accounting law, then deleted.
You can request deletion at any time — see our account deletion instructions.
5. Security
All data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so while we work to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices & rights
- Access & correction — you can view and edit your account and resume details directly in the app.
- Deletion — delete your account in-app, or via our account deletion page.
- Portability — export your resume as a PDF at any time from within the app.
- Advertising ID — you can reset or limit ad personalization for your device in your phone's system settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing or request a copy of your data. Contact us below to exercise these rights.
7. Children's privacy
ResumeKit is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. International transfers
Our service providers, including Google, may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email, and update the "Last updated" date above.
