Terms of Service

1. The service

ResumeKit lets you build, edit, and export resumes using a set of templates. Some features and templates are available for free; others require an active Pro subscription.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an account. By using ResumeKit, you confirm you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

3. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account.
• Let us know immediately at the contact below if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
• You can also use core features as a guest without creating an account; guest data is tied to a temporary session rather than a persistent account.

5. Your content

You own the content you put into your resumes — your work history, education, photos, and everything else you enter. By using ResumeKit, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the app's features to you (such as rendering and exporting your resume).

You're responsible for making sure the content of your resume is accurate and that you have the right to use anything you upload, such as a photo.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use ResumeKit for anything illegal, or to misrepresent your identity or qualifications in a way intended to deceive an employer.
• Upload content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Attempt to interfere with, reverse engineer, or disrupt the app or its backend services.
• Use automated means to scrape, copy, or access the service outside of the app's normal functionality.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

7. Our intellectual property

The ResumeKit name, app, templates, and design are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our branding or templates beyond using them normally within the app to build your own resume.

8. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time — see our account deletion page.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or if required by law.
• Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

9. Disclaimers

ResumeKit is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that using ResumeKit will result in job offers, interviews, or any particular career outcome. Resume content and suggestions are provided for your own use at your discretion.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResumeKit and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including lost opportunities or income, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local consumer protection law requires otherwise.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email, and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use ResumeKit after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
